Our little elf

We decorated the tree with Grandma Jackie and Finn dove right into the decorating.

Jackie's December visit

Grandma Jackie is visiting for a week so Finn has been lucky enough to skip daycare and get FT attention from her. Jackie's working on getting Finn to wave and has spoiled him with lots of love and attention. We thank her for the extra hands and all her help.

Baby's First Snow Fall

We woke up to Finn this morning at 6a.m. (on a SATURDAY!)to find that it has snowed a bit so Finn got to peek out the window at his first sight of snow.

Roman's first Birthday

We went to Roman's B-day, the first child from our PEPS group to turn one. Hard to believe that they're becoming toddlers-not babies anymore. We had fun seeing everyone-especially the development of each baby-some walkers, some creeping along furniture etc. Here's some pics of Roman and assorted babies from our PEPS group.

No Mom-I can feed myself!

We outgrew our little booster high chair so now Finn has a bigger booster high chair to eat all of the new foods he's trying. He prefers feeding himself these days so we give him two spoons. We put the puree or food on the spoon-hand it to him and let him put it in his mouth. I then take the spoon from his other hand and load it with food. Then its on to finger food. So far we've tried mango, sweet potato, peas, carrots, yams, broccoli, a bit or turkey, egg yolks, and a little yogurt. YMMMM.

Jumperooin!

Finn loves his jumperoo. We heart his giggle.

Noodling It

We love our water baby. This weekend Finn has his first "Swimming Lesson"-really just wading around in the pool with Brent but he seemed to like the pool. We think he was more fascinated with the other kids, the ceiling, etc. and didnt really realize that he was submerged in water-just another playing field for him.
It was so cute to watch him and we're looking forward to more lessons and the possibility of watching him fully dunk his head at the end of the 8 week session.

All Dressed Up

Here are some pictures from my cousin Megan's wedding. We got Finn his first Fancy outfit. (thanks grandma Joanne!) He also got to meet his great grandma Dorothy O'Hara-grandma Dot.

Three Little Dragons

okay...so maybe one is a dinosaur but it sure looked like the 3 little dragons.
We went down to Westwood Village our local shopping center to meet up with some families from my PEPS group to participate in their trick-or-treat event. We didnt trick or treat-just walked around and admired all the kids and their costumes.

Finn's costume had a big belly so he ended up looking like an adorable pregnant dinosaur-especially in the stroller

Movin but not quite crawling

He's so close but not crawling yet. He can now scoot his butt backwards but hasnt figured out the forward motion of his arms so when he reaches to crawl he propels himself backwards. Still teething so everything he picks up goes right into his mouth.

Day in the park

we have a fab new park just two blocks away that we love. Here's Finn enjoying the swing and in the jogger. He gets more animated toward the end of the video.

What's up Doc

Finn now has two bottom teeth and his top two have broken through so he's crewing on everything and is a drool monster. This carrot is from our garden. He didnt eat it-just chewed on it.

Finally-a new post! Chillin on the porch

We've been quite the busy family and haven't posted for some time but here' a bunch of recent pics. He's just chilling with daddy on the porch swing. Check out that he's sitting up so well on his own!

Sweet Potato! He's 6 months old

Finn's been eating solid food-mostly a mixture of sweet potatoes and rice cereal. He loves it, grabs the spoon and tries to lick the bowl-mainly it ends up all over him and us.

He just had his 6 month well check and he's 17 lbs 6.5 oz (41%-doc says that's healthy and a good stat)
27" HT- 63% percentile
45.2 cm HC- 85%

Zoo Concert

Finn attended 3 zoo concerts this summer.
These pics are from Shawn Mullins and the Avett Brothers.

Bathtime fun

Finn will soon be able to ditch the bathseat but for now we strap him in so he wont topple over.
He kicks his feet and splashes. We have to give him a separate clean wash cloth as he loves the texture and to chew on it- teething is a factor all the time

Peps Baby Fest

We went to Regan's house for a back to school BBQ with the peps ladies. Finn was mellow while others got teary around him. He also loved the rattle in the pictures. It was the weekend that he realized that he could really grab things and control where they go. Mostly that means pick it up and put it in his mouth so we have to really watch what he grabs these days.

G&G Cook's visit

G&G Howitt and Nancy from Florida were visiting this past week from Florida.
We so enjoyed watching him interact with them and get spoiled with grandparent love!

Sitting UP

This is the first shot we got of Finn sitting up-pretty much the first day he started sitting up a for bit on his own. He's gotten consistently stronger-and figured out that he could put one hand on the ground to stabilize himself which was cool to watch. Still not crawling but he's trying just cant figure out the upper body coordination.
